My favorite Alaska Native Storyteller: Jack Dalton

Jack is by now world famous and deservedly so. Here he is performing a traditional Yup'ik Inuit tale, "The Boy Who Ate Too Much". In this clip, the boy finds and eats a big, fat ring seal. Jack the amusing teacher also explains - to those not in the know - how in a land with no trees light and heat were traditionally obtained by seal oil lamps. And so much more.
The background poster is of Jack's latest healing theater production, Light Returns: New Stories of Hope from Village Alaska.
